  pyramid in knowledge book

  hi, i was up late the other night and read something about a page in the knowledge book that has a picture,when folded that displays a pyramid with a skull above it.

  i dont have the book but would really like to see the pic, does anyone have a copy they can post here for me to view.

  Interesting! So if Russell thought he was already chosen, what was there for Jesus to choose? Why did he need to inspect all religions and pick the Bible Students? (Not that I believe any of that, but poses an interesting question for JW's).

  How Would You Refute JW's Claim Of Being The ONLY True Religion?

  since the new tract tells us "the end of false religion is near!

  ", jehovah's witnesses maintain that they alone are the only true religion.

  how would you dispute that??

  Talk is cheap. It's easy to say their the only true religion, but as others are saying, leave it to them to prove it. Where does the Bible say salvation is thru them, or that Jesus isn't mankinds mediator, etc? When they say they were appointed in 1919, they need 1914 for their proof! They can't prove that date either. Its a real maze, and they get lost trying to make their way through it. I keep thinking of the scripture in 2 Cor 10:12, NWT says, "For we do not dare to class ourselves among some or compare ourselves with some who recommend themselves. Certainly they in measureing themselves by themselves and comparing themselves with themselves have no understanding."

  my mother married an elder when i was 1 1/2 years old.

  he came from a family of pedophiles (also jw's) and i was a pet project.

  Welcome! You've taken a great step in the right direction. There are so many on this board who have had heart wrenching experiences from within the organization. It takes courage to leave when you think you are all alone. You'll find your time here rewarding. Once you take the Watchtower blinders off you'll find a whole new world out here. Most of all you'll realize you'll not "die at Armageddon" for leaving an organization that may say they bear Gods name, but inpractice are far removed from him. Welcome again, and hope you visit and post often. You'll find it very therapudic.

  lately, here in ottawa, there is a tv ad for a comedy show.

  it has a "teacher" in front of a 3 student class.

  the teacher says that when he asks a question everyone should put up their hand.

  Isn't it great, not to be judging one another by our own standards! To each his own. Glad to be free from all the judging in the organization where everyone was pretty much afraid to disagree with anyone else. Group think!!!

  So sorry to her of your loss. Venting on this board will give you a measure of comfort I'm sure. It's sure strange how a JW can rationalize leaving a mate is acceptable with Jehovah, even though the Bible definitely says differently. It seems a few years back the Wt came out with information (probably new light) that if one's spirituality is in jeopardy it would be alright. It's really something what is right there (in between the lines). Hang in there. Time heals the wounds and life does go on.

  We can always count on Blondie to find those articles we think don't exist...thanks Blondie. The latest tract, The End of False Religion Is Nesr, page 3 shows the wild beast, mentions the world's political powers, but neglects to specifically say the beast is the UN, as they have in the past. I think they are being careful who they point fingers at.

  hi guys,.

  sorry to burden you all with this but i really have no one that i want to talk about this with, i'm afraid that i will burst into tears and wont be able to stop if i call any of my friends and tell them what's going on.

  my little sister has been ill with a fever for three weeks, her doctor kept telling her it was just a bad case of the flu and that she had an ear infection, he gave her antibiotics and sent her home.

  The "light gets brighter"...??? Have you ever read the context of that scripture??? It has absolutely NOTHING to do with truth getting brighter, learning more and more. It is comparing day and night, dark and light, good and bad. Read the context...you might be surprised. I believe it was brother Russell that said new light never contradicts old light. If that is truly the case, why do we no longer teach anything like what Russell believed??? As for "tacking", the Wt doesn't tack, it goes forward then backward, and sometimes forward again. I havn't read all the posts, but I'm sure there are a lot of these examples, as many have been posted earlier. And, what are you, a "true" JW, doing on such a board as this anyway? Hope you stay and learn that the "truth" isn't the "truth" after all.
